My Platform:
Excellence in reading, writing, mathematics, thinking, & teaming
Parental choice regarding their child’s learning environment (tax money should follow the child)
Intra-State Host Student Program (designed much like the foreign student exchange program, this will allow students who reside in South Carolina to be hosted by families in other parts of the state to attend school in their host family’s district. This will give students an opportunity to have access to programs that will benefit them, particularly students from poor areas of the state.)
Safe Schools
Tax neutral innovations
o A Total Integrated Learning System (Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment of student learning which demonstrates the effectiveness of the curriculum and instruction)
o Expansion of distant learning programs/centers
o Investment in learning technology
o Reduction in teacher administrative duties
o Increase in teacher and support staff compensation
o Development of a Preservice/Retiree Teacher Corps
o Protection of the state’s retirement system
o Encourage the General Assembly to develop an action team for restructuring of the state’s tax code to stabilize revenue and relieve small businesses of the state’s unfair tax burden
Strategic Abandonment
o Elimination of programs that do not add value
o Elimination of PASS (it duplicates meaningful accountability initiatives, the state has wasted tens-of-millions of dollars of taxpayer’s money on this test)

I look forward to working with you in future endeavors to benefit our beloved South Carolina.
In the mean time I have a $10,000 campaign debt that needs to be retired, please go to "Contribution Info" to make a donation toward retiring this debt.
Any funds remaining after relinquishing the campaign debt will be given to South Carolina's Children’s Trust Fund.
Again, thank you for all of your help and support.
